Arizona's 3rd Congressional District

Raquel Terán

For more than two decades, Raquel Terán has worked to build a civic and political movement to lift up the voices of everyone in her community. She was born in Douglas, Arizona and raised in Agua Prieta, Sonora on the street that divides the United States from Mexico. Because of her deep belief in equality, fairness, and family, she started organizing in her community. Someone from Mi Familia Vota put a clipboard in her hand, and she hasn't been without one since. She traded her megaphone for a microphone when she was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in 2018. In 2021, she was appointed to the State Senate and also elected Chair of the Arizona Democratic Party, guiding Democrats to historic wins in 2022 up and down the ticket.

Now, it is time to take our organizing to the next level — Congress. She is running so we can ensure that everyone has access to quality healthcare, including safe and legal abortion, to protect our planet for future generations, and to build an economy that works for everyone. Terán states that "You have my utmost commitment that I will show up every day ready to fight for our families."
